LIM Sodam 임소담

Born in 1985 in Seoul, Korea
Lives and works in Seoul, Korea
LIM Sodam examines the contradictions and the unfamiliarity of the gaps that emerge in the process of visualising the invisible. She gives form to immaterial subjects, such as memories of dreams and unconscious sensations, through the practices of painting and sculpting. Her work observes the moments where various elements within the realms of painting and sculpture either conflict or find harmony.
임소담은 보이지 않는 존재를 시각화하는 과정에서 발생하는 모순과 공백의 생경함에 대해 관심을 갖는다. 꿈에 대한 기억, 무의식적 감각과 같은 비물질적 대상을 그리기와 만들기의 방식을 통해 시각화하며, 회화와 조각 내부의 다양한 요소들이 대립하거나 조화를 이루는 순간들을 탐색한다.
