Yongju KWON explores the multifaceted modalities of social and economic structures that exist within the interstice between art and reality. By employing materials that vividly expose the rawness of reality—such as industrial waste, construction materials, and household rubbish—he interrogates notions of labour and survival, while capturing the intersections where the mundane converges with aesthetic discourse. In doing so, KWON forges a new sculptural realm that both blurs and transcends traditional aesthetic boundaries.
권용주는 예술과 현실 사이 간극에 존재하는 사회, 경제적 구조의 다양한 양태를 탐구한다. 산업폐기물, 건축 재료, 생활쓰레기 등과 같이 현실 그 자체를 극단적으로 생생하게 드러내는 재료로 노동과 생존에 대해 질문하며 일상의 경험이 미학적 질문들과 만나는 지점들을 포착한다. 이로써 권용주는 일반 통념상의 미적 경계를 넘나드는 새로운 조각의 영역을 구축한다.
